Romeleåsen and the Lake District in the south of Skåne offers both beautiful countryside and cultural sights. We have put together two circuits with interesting things to see and beautiful roads to drive on. The tours start in Svedala, but you can start these circuits wherever you want to. You can combine both parts, or just choose to do one of them depending on your time and your interests. Each of the circuits will take 1 – 2 days at a leisurely pace. Count of 3 days if you want to do the whole tour. There are several places where you can stay the night or enjoy a meal along the way. Each part of the tour is 100 kilometers, the whole circuit is 200 kilometers.
What is common for the countryside you drive through is that almost all the land is owned by big estates and farms. The castles and the mansions leave their mark with tree-lined avenues, large farm houses, beech woods, pastures and parks. If you do the complete circuit, you will pass one ancient fortification, four castles from medieval times, four castle ruins, seven castles from the 18th and 19th centuries and a number of large farms. You will also see eight medieval churches and four windmills. The region also offers areas of great natural beauty. During the tour you can visit seven nature reserves and many estates well preserved by their owners.
