Häckeberga wood, with its beeches and other broad-leaf trees, is a popular visitor spot.
There are large, beautiful woods just south south-east of Lake Häckeberga . The big broad-leaf trees and unspoiled alder-swamps are home to many rare insects. You'll also see many fallow-deer roaming in the woods.
Häckeberga is also characterized by large, undulating open fields. To the north, close to the Skåneleden path you'll find a heath-covered savannah. You'll find lots of fascinating flora such as Fairy Flax, Field Wormwood, Sheep's-<bit and Trailing Tormentil
. If you're lucky you might find the rare Trailing St John's wort.
Häckeberga castle is beautifully situated on one of the seven islands in Lake Häckeberga . The castle has a restaurant, hotel and conference facilities.
The Häckeberga region is a nature reserve and has several parking places.
Getting there: You can get to Häckeberga from several roads. From Genarp: drive south-east towards Häckeberga. From the E65 between Malmö and Ystad turn towards Häckeberga. From 102 Skurup–Veberö turn towards Genarp.
