The Risen nature reserve is an area of woods and pastures.
The open, grazed common is a large, interesting area, with hills and marshes, groves and Juniper thicket. The flora is rich and varied. Pasque-flower, Common Rock-rose and Breckland Thyme grow in the sun-dried fields. The Lousewort blooms in the marshes.
Horses and cattle graze on Risen. As with Humlaröd common, Risen is made up of open pastures which covered most of the Romeleås ridge and surrounding area until the nineteenth century.
Getting there: Risen is just south of Genarp and can be reached by road between Häckeberga and Hässleberga, and from several streets in the south-west part of Genarp. There is a car park at Medborgarhuset.
