Torup is better known as "Bokskogen" (Beechwood) and is a very popular spot for excursions. The wood has many hills, marshes and ponds.
North of the outdoor activity centre there is a thin, leafy wood with thick trees and grove plants like Alpina, Enchanter's-Nightshade, Giant Bellflower and Lesser Hairy Brome. There's also a bird-watching tower with a view of the wetlands.
There are many walking and jogging paths in the area. Torup also offers a cottage museum and a school museum. Torup castle was built in the sixteenth century and is one of the best preserved Renaissance castles in Scandinavia . The castle is open for guided tours on Sundays from May to Midsummer. The castle gardens are open all year round. Torup is owned by the city of Malmö .
Getting there: Torup is about 10 kilometers east of Malmö. It is well signposted from road 108 between Lund and Svedala. From Malmö drive to Bara and then follow the road signs to Torup.
